Robbie Burns the collie loves Amanda and her family more than me, his Mom!  He jumps right into her pickup van, prepacked with his buddies, ready for a romp in the mountains.

I  have watched Amanda work with 5 dogs, sized from chihuahua to Robbie's 24" at the shoulder, and she indeed creates a 'Peaceable Kingdom.'  Be sure to ask for the bath before pickup- the RobDobDog returned fluffy soft with brilliant whites after kicking up the dust of the Sierra Nevada for several days.

It was fantastic to leave our dog in the very good care of Long Valley Dog Retreat. After a brief tour of the accomodations and meeting Amanda I felt very comfortable. I could see that our dog had a lot of fun while staying there and I would definitely reserve her a spot in the future.

I usually don't like to leave my dog with anyone but after reading some of the reviews on YELP about the Long Valley Dog Retreat, I became a fan. From the moment I contacted the owner, Amanda, I knew Frankenstein, my dog, would like it there. The service was outstanding. Amanda was very prompt to respond to all of my questions and concerns for Franky. She took him right in and he felt right at home. I would definitely recommend this doggy retreat to anyone. Oh, and did I mention her home-made doggy treats are a HUGE hit! Franky usually doesn't like any dog biscuits, but he gobbled these right up!

Hello!

Though they are a terrific resource I have recently removed the Yelp link from  our website as several (6 of 9) reviews of our business have been filtered. For the life of me I can’t figure out why, therefore as you might have noticed I have taken the initiative to seek out and add these to our posts & comments page. These reviews are written by folks who where generous enough to take the time to convey their experience of our service and I feel it’s important to post their messages.

Warm regards,

Amanda

Went for a unplanned trip to mammoth over the holidays-which left us with little time to find a place for the day to leave our yorkie's. We found Amanda & immediately felt comfortable with her-so did toby & maddie. They loved their stay!! What a beautiful & cozy place. The pups also enjoyed their "homemade treats" that Amanda packed for them. I may have to order a case. I wish they lived here in Marina del Rey-I would definitely bring them to her often.

I always hate leaving our little shih tzu Oliver at pet hotels when we go out of town. The things that make me feel the most uneasy about doing so are that typically, someone does not stay at the facility overnight and that the dogs spend the majority of their time in kennels. Which are two things I know are distressing for our little Oliver. Well, last weekend, short notice we decided to go up to June Lake from San Diego for the long weekend which created a need to find somewhere to leave Oliver. That's when I found the Long Valley Dog Retreat online. They are located in Mammoth about 20 mins South of June Lake. Amanda and her husband run the dog retreat from their home. What a different experience from a typical pet hotel! Amanda genuinely loves dogs and it shows in her work. She has truly created a fun, peaceful & safe haven for dogs of all sizes to stay and play together. We were so impressed. They have it set-up to be a cage free environment and since it's run out of their home, someone is there to watch the dogs round the clock. And the play area in the backyard is absolutely beautiful and ideal for the dogs to safely & freely run and play. Amanda went above & beyond to make Oliver feel comfortable & adapt to his new surroundings and new friends to play with. She called us the first night to assure us Oliver was settling in well and took the time to ease our minds again when we called the next day to check on him. She also offers email updates if you'd prefer, to let you know what your dog has been up to each day. When we picked our little guy up two days later he was happily tuckered out from all the fun he'd had there. Amanda sent us off with a bag of homemade dog treats & a CD of pictures of Oliver and the other dogs! We left wishing she lived closer to SD so we could use her services every time we go away. I would highly recommend the Long Valley Dog Retreat to anyone looking for a great place they can feel good about leaving their dog.

You've created the perfect, loving and fun environment for the dogs in your care.  This is a great asset to the Eastern Sierra region.  I will make sure to pass along your info to all my dog pals!

We left our black lab Sophia with Amanda, Vincent & Maximo for 3 days and she had a great time!  The property with its trees, pond & large grassy areas were a perfect setting for Sophia & the care she was given couldn't have been any better.  Also, they gave us homemade doggie biscuits to take home! We definitely recommend this dog retreat to all our friends who need dog sitting services.

Charlie Labradoodle was in Dog Heaven at the Long Valley Dog Retreat!
Two ponds and a creek let him indulge his love of water sports with dog buddies and Amanda's son, Max(the stick thrower!).  Hikes with Amanda and the buddies and a comfy, cozy bedtime indoors with them made his day. After three days he was definitely disappointed when we headed for home instead of Amanda's. Amanda truly "connects"with each dog.

I drove cross-country this summer and stopped at many national parks, when I got to Long Valley Dog retreat I knew my pitbull Amelia was going to LOVE the place. Amanda is a friendly and accommodating person who made me feeling extremely comfortable leaving my dog in her care. The back yard was amazing fenced in with a pond for the dogs to swim in this place is truly a retreat for dogs! By far the nicest kennel I left Amelia on the trip. Amanda even made me a cd with photos of Amelia playing with the other dogs and on hikes, she even sent me home with home-made dog treats! I highly recommend Long Valley Dog Retreat if you need to board your dogs.

We had a last minute change of plans and Amanda could not have been more helpful in accomodating our 2 labs. The property is a doggie heaven with pond and stream running through - perfect for jumping, splashing and fetching. After 2 days in residence, our labs meet us at the gate to greet us and promptly ran off to play. They clearly wanted to stay!! Our babies are rather spoiled and loved the comfy sleeping quarters and especially liked sleeping with Amanda and Max. The CD with pictures of their stay was frosting on the cake!
